Born in Grünstadt, Germany, in 1927, Ludwig Wilding and his works are associated with Op and Kinetic art. Wilding’s works are three-dimensional structures that create shifting patterns through their black and white designs. His work has featured in numerous shows including ‘The Responsive Eye’ at the Museum of Modern Art, New York in 1965; ‘Eyes, Lies and Illusions’ at the Hayward Gallery, London in 2004; ‘Optic Nerve: Perceptual Art of the 1960’s’ at The Columbus Museum of Art, USA.
