Born in 1977, Christine Yukenbarri is one of Australia’s leading contemporary Indigenous artists. She is the daughter of renowned Balgo artists Helicopter Tjungurrayi and Lucy Yukenbarri. Christine learned to paint by observing and assisting her mother, adopting the kinti-kinti style of fine dotting that Lucy pioneered.

Her work often depicts Winpurpurla, her mother’s country, focusing on its "living water", represented symbolically as a central circle in her paintings. Christine is a member of the Kukutja language group and is based in Balgo, Western Australia.
