Unlike Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, who had their convictions overturned in the famous 'Redlands' court case in 1967, art dealer Robert Fraser served his full sentence of four months for possession at Wormwood Scrubs prison. The period was one in which Fraser maintained contact with artists, musicians and other 1960s celebrities through letters and telegrams, some of which were part of the 2015 Pace Gallery exhibition on the influential dealer.
One such items was a letter Clive Barker wrote to the dealer, only to have it returned by the prison office, informing he should only write after Fraser had initiated contact - the letter now immortalised as a print, a historical document and testament of an event which came to embody the spirit of the Swinging Sixties. The work of Clive Barker is in museum collections worldwide including: National Gallery of South Australia, Adelaide
British Museum, London
National Portrait Gallery, London
Tate, London
The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, D.C.
