ALBERT GLEIZES (French, 1881-1953)

Tête d' Homme, 1913 Gouache 23 x 25.4 cm Signed and dated lower right Photo certificate from Mrs Anne Varichon, dated ‘le Thor 13 dec 2002’. The present work is a study for an oil on canvas of the same title and year, in the collection of The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York (inventory 71.1936 5151) and is believed to be a self-portrait. A preparatory drawing for the gouache and the oil exists and is also in the collection of The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York (inventory 64.1701). Provenance: Private Collection, Baltimore.
