Born in Reims (Champagne), Bourgoin settled in Paris around the turn of the century. His sculptures are figurative and celebrate the elegance of the human form. From 1907 until his death in 1924 he exhibited at the Salon de la Nationale and at the Salon d’Automne. In 1923 and 1924 he also exhibited at the Salon des Tuileries. Among his famous bronzes is Désespérance, in the collection of the Musée d’Art Moderne de la ville de Paris, Paris.
