Peter Blake (b.1932) emerged in the early 1960's as a key member of the Pop Art movement and has since become one of the best-known artists of his generation. Blake is primarily seen as a figurative painter however his output branches out giving fine contributions to the arts of collage, graphics, sculpture and printmaking. His iconic design for the cover of the Beatles' album Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band ensured he transcended the art world - his work took pride of place in the homes of millions of record-buyers.
