Scottie Wilson is a primitive artist whose real name was Louis Freeman. His work consists of coloured drawings, watercolours and decorated plates, with repeated motifs such as faces, birds and fishes. Wilson participated in a Surrealist show at the Galerie Maeght in Paris, 1947 and also been shown in Basle, Switzerland and New York. Exhibited at the Gallery One London as early as in 1963, Scottie was associated with Brook Street Gallery and Ben Uri Gallery. He designed dinner, tea and coffee services for the Royal Worcester Porcelain Company in 1965. He also designed tapestries for the Aubusson workshop in France and for the Edinburgh Weavers' Association. Picasso collected works by Scottie Wilson.
