Zecchin is an artist of the Art Nouveau. In 1909, he joined a group of artists who, influenced by the ideas of Gustav Klimt and Jan Toorop, had pooled their ideas and first began to exhibit at the Ca'Pesaro in Venice in 1908. By 1915 Zecchin had become central to that movement, as he sourced his ideas in literature and Italian myth, depicted in rich colour, silver and gold. During the following years Zecchin applied his decorative philosophy with great success to glassware, tapestry and furniture, setting up his own tapestry workshop in 1916 and becoming director of the Cappellin-Venini glass company in 1921.
