Roderic O'Conor (Irish 1860-1940)
O' Conor studied in Dublin and Antwerp before moving to Paris where he enrolled in Carolus-Duran's atelier. Attracted to the revolutionary movements of Impressionism and Post Impressionism, he settled permanently in France. O' Conor is remembered as an important part of the Anglo-Saxon circle in Paris, having befriended Clive Bell, Roger Fry and Matthew Smith.
