Jean Marchand (French 1883-1940)
Jean Marchand was taught by the post-impressionist Henri Martin and attended Cézanne's drawing classes. He was a member of the Cubist movement Section d'Or and used mathematical formula to derive his material. Starting in 1912 he turned his attention to scenes of nature, albeit whilst retaining his keen eye for cubist proportion.
