Lazzari began his education in Rome, studying under the sculptor Jerace. Having distinguished himself in the national competition, Pensionato Italiano di Pitture, he went on to partake in the futurist movement. After the rise of Fascism Lazzari emmigrated to the United States where he lived for 40 years. He was one of 9 Europeans - including Gauguin, Modigliani, Pascin, Picasso and Rousseau - who showed in 1926 at the New Gallery, New York.
Throughout the years Lazzari has had a number of one man shows, has been exhibited in major galleries and museums and has been commissioned to create pieces for such high profile figures as Eleanor Roosevelt and Pope Paul VI.
