Arman is worldwide known for his deconstructions of everyday objects, cast in metals, and herewith joined the ranks of Pop Art back in the sixties. His favorite objects include musical instruments, painters' paraphernalia, and sports' equipment. He first came to his unique technique in the late 1950's under the influence of Kurt Schwitters' so-called Merzbau project of 1933, an impressive display of two-dimensions into three morphed by deconstruction.
