Born on Coniston station c.1947, Peter Leo Tjakamarra was an Anmatyerre speaker. His traditional country was Coniston (Aruka) and the area around Tilmouth Well on Napperby station. He painted Witchetty Grub, Hunting, Yam and Snake Dreamings and often worked with his wife, Susan Leo. They lived at Napperby and both began painting in 1986. Peter Leo's work has been exhibited in major Australian cities and the USA.
